Event medical standby, coverage from start to finish
Dedicated on-site EMS coverage for community events, simchas, sporting events, corporate gatherings, and large public functions across New York and New Jersey. BLS or ALS crew assigned based on attendance size, risk assessment, and local requirement.
What event medical standby means
Event medical standby places a trained EMS crew on site at your event from setup through conclusion. The crew manages any medical incidents that arise during the event, provides immediate response without the delay of calling external dispatch, and coordinates with local 911 if a patient requires hospital transport. Having EMS on site reduces liability, enables faster response for attendees, and may be required by your venue or local government for events above a certain attendance threshold.
Hatzolah EMS standby crew arrives with a fully stocked response kit or ambulance unit depending on the event type and size. BLS standby is appropriate for moderate-sized events with a standard-risk attendee population. ALS standby is recommended for events with elderly attendees, events involving physical exertion, outdoor summer events with heat exposure risk, or events where local ordinance requires a paramedic on site.
Standby bookings are confirmed through our dispatch office. We provide a pre-event medical plan, confirm crew qualifications for the event type, and communicate our station location and radio or cell contact to your event coordinator. Post-event, we provide a written incident summary covering any medical activations during the standby period.
